When is the estimated guild wars 2 release?

Everything I watch on youtube said that it was meant to be released at the end of 2011!

I seen that they did their beta at the end of 2011.. When do you think guild wars two will be released?When is the estimated guild wars 2 release?
The release-date has always been "When it is ready". Arenanet, the makers of Guild Wars 2, have never announced a release-date and they have done it for a specific reason; because they don't know They didn't want to guess and then have to post-pone it. So there IS no date, because the makers don't KNOW when it is ready yet.



They are currently in closed beta. They entered Closed Beta in mid-december 2011 and have not yet announced how long this will run until they get ready for Open beta.

It was never 'meant' to be released in 2011... those were just community estimates. ArenaNet themselves have not announced a release date yet. The only thing they have said, is "When It's Done", because they want the game to be the very best it can be, and they will take whatever time they need to make it so. Right now they themselves don't even know exactly how long this will take, so all dates you see on other sites (like IGN) are pure speculation, and release dates published on sites like amazon are only placeholders until the real releasedate is announced.



You're right, Guild Wars 2 has entered closed beta testing phase in December 2011. The results of those tests will determine how much more time ArenaNet needs to fix or alter things and finish the game. Once that is done, there will be a public beta. The results of the public beta will again determine how much time they need before the actual release. So if all goes well, the release might be around Q2 2012, but there is no way to be sure.



Your best bet is, to keep an eye on the official guild wars 2 site and on the arenanet blog. Both the public beta and the release date will definitely be announced there.
