When is Guild Wars 2 being released?

I've seen that Guild Wars 2 was announced back in 2007 or 2008, and many people at the time were saying it will be released the latest 2011. It is now 2012 and the game still hasnt been released...anyone have any idea when the beta/ release will happen?When is Guild Wars 2 being released?
The game is actually in closed beta right now. This past weekend there was a large press beta event, and later today (February 20) the press will be allowed to talk about their experiences, so look out for that info. ArenaNet have said they will have more weekend beta events in March and April, and you will be able to sign up for those. The game will be released later this year (based on the info provided, most people believe it will be either late Q2 or early Q3 2012). No specific date has been given yet... and don't trust the dates on sites like Amazon, they are only placeholders until a real release date is announced.



As for the console version... ArenaNet have indeed said that they have a small team investigating a console version, so there may be one at a later date, but right now the team is trying hard to make the best PC game possible (their words). The PC version will be released when it's finished and will not be postponed until a console version is released.When is Guild Wars 2 being released?
Beta has already started. It's currently invite only with most of the invitees being members of the press along with a few hundred of the current players. Arenanet has said they plan larger beta sessions in March and April. Assuming those test session go well, I'm hoping the game will be released around June.When is Guild Wars 2 being released?
On x-play (gaming show) they where talking about a guild wars 2 for xbox 360, they are maybe gonna finish that then release.
