Guild wars expansions and guild wars 2?

Hello. I'm checking out guild wars and im planning to buy it, i need info on how many expansions there are and theyre names, and when guild wars 2 comes out, if i buy guild wars 2, will that be like all the previous expansions + the new one, or will i need to have all previous expansions before i can play guild wars 2?Guild wars expansions and guild wars 2?
There are 4 Guild Wars games currently.



Guild Wars: Origins

Guild Wars: Faction

Guild Wars: Nightfall

Guild Wars: Eye of The North



You can play any of the first 3, without needing to buy the rest, each one opens up a new continent, classes to play as, items, skills %26amp; such.



You will need at least one one the first 3 games to be able to use the content from Eye of The north.



There is no set date for Guild Wars 2, it is set to be released either late 2010 - 2011.

You will not need any of the previous GW games to be able to play GW2, it is a completely different game, most of the original GW's features have been overhauled for GW2 %26amp; there have been major changes made to world it is set in, so GW2 will retain the same game play %26amp; feel of the GW series but it will be like none other.Guild wars expansions and guild wars 2?
