Is Guild Wars worth getting even after Guild Wars 2 has come out?

If I do decide to get it, I would be playing for a while, Say for a few months at least. My computer can't play Guild Wars 2, so I was thinking about getting the original Guild Wars. Is it still worth it?Is Guild Wars worth getting even after Guild Wars 2 has come out?
Guild wars is not coming out shortly, but will be out next year (best guess). You can follow my youtube-channel right now for up-to-date information on that stuff, or the youtube-clip below for the announcement from Arenanet itself.

I started GW1 after GW2 was announced, as I did want to look around.

I am just poking around and having fun while exploring, but I don't really expect it to give me a lot for GW2.

Now, for the Hall of Monuments.

In Eye of the North there is a relic-site where you can "display" your accomplishments (it just looks cool). The more things you have in there the more points you will get for the hall of monument free giveaway at the start of GW2. Link below.

Now some of this stuff is really tough to get, for the long-time veterans of the game, who have done it all and more. However, you don't have to have 50 points (which is the maximum) to get some neat things. I have 6 points currently (been playing about 9 weeks) which is going to give me a complete set of starting armor for my character in GW2.

So, not only am I having fun (no monthly fee), exploring and kicking butt, but I am also getting bonuses for GW2. When the game comes out in a year I will have at least 10-15 points, even at my pace.

I suggest you look into GW1. It is cheap and a lot of fun. Enjoy.
