Guild Wars 2 will split PvE and PvP apart, so that they don't mix. That is a great thing since it means PvP is for those that want to PvP exclusively, meaning the pacing can be set to their liking, either structured competitive PvP or open-world PvP with huge battles.

PvE players won't get attacked out in the open when they are out doing what they want - as there is no PvP in PvE.

Of course there will be PvE, more so than in the first game and there will be also PvP of course although we don't know yet if there will be open world PvP so far we only saw instanced PvP.



How they make money is everyones guess. Apparently it would be enough to sell a game once and don't charge monthly. Well if I'm saying 'once' I know plenty of hardcore PvP players from Guild Wars who have/had multiple accounts - simply because they got so much gold and expensive items they had to store that stuff *somewhere*.
