I have a computer from 2010, and nothing has been done to it (no new video card or anything). I really want to play guild Wars 2 (when it releases), but personally I don't think it's worth the extra money. So, how demanding will they be? On the website they say it will be for mid-range gaming PCs, but my computer is A. Not a gaming PC. and B. From two years (or more) before the games release, so their "mid-range" requirements, especially considering it's mid-range for a gaming computer, might not fit my computer. Are the Guild Wars 2 system requirements going to be demanding?
No specifications have been released yet, but we do know that ArenaNet have purchased several graphics cards that are no longer for sale, just to be able to test the game on older systems. They will definitely try to keep the system requirements as low as possible. 2010 really isn't that old, so if your system was "mid range" in 2010 your chances of being able to run the game are pretty good. You may not be able to run the game at maximum settings, though...
But I don't know how good your 2010 system is (what motherboard, graphics card, how much memory?) If that computer already was fairly low-range for a gaming system in 2010, then you may need to upgrade your computer a bit to be able to play...Are the Guild Wars 2 system requirements going to be demanding?
From other games made by NCSoftware, the speculation is about this:
OS - Windows XP SP2 or better (Windows vista/ Windows 7_
CPU - 2.6GHz (single core) or better
Memory - 2GB of DDR2 or better
Video - Video:NVIDIA GeForce 7600 or Better / ATI Radeon HD 3400 or Better
Sound - DirectX Compatible Soundcard
DirectX - Version 9.0c or Higher
Harddrive space - 20GB
Internet - Broadband required
Optical drive - DVD-ROM or better (optional if you intend to download the client and it's expansions)
There is no sure fire system requirements, but these are what many people are guessing it will be about. I hope I helped! :)
